Apple Reportedly Interested To Acquire Shazam


Speaking of music recognition apps for smartphones, the Shazam app is one of the first music recognition apps for smartphones and the service is constantly being upgraded. The function of the Shazam app is now not only to recognize music, but now it can also recognize TV shows. Apple has also been integrated with the application, where users can to use Shazam music recognition feature without the need to open the application.


Apparently Apple thinks that having a full Shazam app will be more profitable than just working with them. This is reinforced by TechCrunch's latest report that says if Apple is interested in purchasing Shazam, the deal is said to be as much as $ 400 million, and could be officially announced in the near future. 

Unfortunately for now it is unclear what the underlying reasons for Apple to have Shazam, given the current service is also already integrated with iOS. But there is a possibility that perhaps Apple wants to emulate one of the features of Pixel 2, namely the ability to identify songs thanks to the always-listening feature. So, by acquiring Shazam, Apple hopes to bring similar features to iOS devices in the future or can be present in the update as well. 

Apple has been known to be closed with their latest plans, including plans to acquire a company. So, about this news must be seen further how the development.
