Google Tighten App Rules Take Android User Information

Google is known to have made a number of changes on Android, especially in terms of user safety. A number of new features and services were released to ensure the security of applications in the operating system.

Latest, the internet giant is reportedly going to close an application that retrieves unnecessary data from the user's device. Google has also set up a new rule how to collect user data.

In this new rule, the app should describe their privacy policy, especially when asking users to provide their data.

This rule will apply to all data collected, from phone numbers to installed apps on the Android device.

Applications that collect personal data without clarity must provide users with information about the use of that data.

"If an app collects and transmits unrelated user data, the app should provide users with information on how it is used and request its approval," Google wrote.

Developers are allowed up to 60 days to begin enforcing these new rules, before Google will eventually crack down on non-compliant applications and upgrade users.

Google App Rules Display App on Lock Screen

Previously, Google also made changes to the rules on a number of applications that display ads on the user lock screen. This rule itself has just been issued by Google some time ago.

"Unless there is a specific purpose of the app in the lock screen, an app may not display ads and monetize from the lock screen of a device," Google wrote.

This rule is quite interesting, given the many third-party lock screen applications that advertise on the user's home screen.

Moreover, this kind of application is used to replace the default lock screen Android. In other words, such apps are actually still displaying ads on the device.

A similar way has also been done by Google in 2013. At that time, Google stopped the appearance of ads in the Android notification bar.
